Official Dispatch No. 2057/DL-NLTT on posting the electronic information portal to collect comments on the draft Decree detailing a number of articles of the Electricity Law on renewable energy and new energy electricity

The main points are as follows:

(i) The Decree will take effect in February 2025, replacing Decree No. 135/2024/ND-CP, and will adjust policies to promote the development of rooftop solar power for self-production and consumption.
(ii) Applies to state management agencies, organizations, individuals and households with activities related to the contents specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 1 of this Decree in the territory of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
(iii) Regulations on the development of renewable energy and new energy electricity; development of self-produced and self-consumed electricity; development of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power; development of offshore wind power.

This Decree creates a legal framework for the development and operation of rooftop solar power, supporting sustainable energy growth and the Government's commitment to renewable energy.
