IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLUTIONS TO ENSURE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN THE DRY SEASON

On June 6, 2023, the Prime Minister has issued Official Telegram No. 517/CD-TTg (Official Telegram 517) on the implementation of solutions to ensure electricity supply in the dry season in 2023 and upcoming time.

In the Official Telegram 517, the Prime Minister has directed the MOIT to:

1. Carefully review and evaluate the current situation of electricity supply as well as develop proactive scenarios to promptly respond to difficulties in electricity supply;

2. Urgently finalize the Prime Minister’s Directive on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023 – 2025 and the following years;

3. Urgently finalize the Prime Minister’s Directive on ensuring electricity supply, coal and gas supply for power production;

4. Research and guide the handling of wind power and solar power projects that have been implemented but do not meet the deadline for application of the FIT pricing mechanism;

5. Guide investment in transmission power grid according to the approved Power Development Plan;

6. Regulate the management and direction of the National Load Dispatch Center to the MOIT.

Besides, the Prime Minister also directs the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises, the EVN Group, the TKV Group, the PVN and provincial People’s Committees to concentrating on ensuring electricity supply throughout the country.
