DRAFT DECISION ON THE ISSUANCE OF THE PLAN FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PDP VIII

The draft Decision on the issuance of the Plan for the implementation of PDP VIII was recently issued by the Prime Minister. In the spirit of effectively implementing Decision No. 500/QĐ-TTg, the Plan sets specific objectives and requirements to ensure the determination of schedules and resources for project implementation; ensuring balanced exploitation and development by region; and promoting strong development of renewable energy sources.

The main content of the draft is related to the development of large power sources, offshore wind power, solar power, small hydropower, and other renewable energy sources. Grid projects will be evaluated for feasibility and implementation according to the actual deployment schedule. The draft also provides estimates for land use requirements and capital mobilization.

At the end of the document, Appendix 1 outlines the development plan for large power sources by 2025 and the 2026-2030 period.
