CONCLUSIONS ON THE CURRENT SITUATION OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND SOLUTIONS

On June 12th, 2023, the Government Office issued the Announcement No. 219/TB-VPCP on the conclusions of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the meeting on the current situation of electricity supply and solutions, policies to mobilize rooftop solar energy from residences, state agencies, non-business units and schools, especially in the Northern region. The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, representatives of the EVN Group, the TKV Group and the PVN Group.

In this Announcement, Deputy Prime Minister has come to these main following conclusions:

1. The current situation of electricity supply in the Northern still has difficulties and has not been improved much yet. The Prime Minister and Deputy Minister have directed ministries, departments, agencies and localities across the country on the implementation of solutions to deal with difficulties in electricity supply, especially in saving energy not only now but also in the coming time.

2. Strive to increase electricity saving in the period of 2023 - 2025. Strive to have 50% of office buildings and 50% residential houses using the self-production and self-consumption rooftop solar electricity by 2023, especially in the Northern region.

3. The MOIT shall urgently research, finalize the application for the development of the Law on Renewable energy.

4. The MOIT shall urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the ENV Group and relevant ministries, departments to research and propose the Government to issue mechanisms, policies to encourage investments, mobilize the rooftop solar electricity resources for residential activities and offices.
